The Life Baker Rising Stars Academic Competition brings together bright students from different schools and backgrounds for a disciplined CBT-based assessment.

The competition tests knowledge, reasoning, accuracy, speed, comprehension, problem-solving, and academic maturity. It is created for students who want to go beyond their regular classroom environment and experience a more serious academic challenge.

To mark 20 years of educational impact, Life Baker is recognising 20 outstanding students through scholarship prizes worth up to ₦20 million in academic value.

The ₦20 million prize pool is not a cash prize. Scholarship prizes are academic value prizes applicable only within Life Baker Group of Schools. They are not redeemable as cash, not transferable, and cannot be used outside Life Baker Group of Schools. Terms and conditions apply.

All awards are subject to performance, category ranking, result audit, identity verification, competition rules, winner category, benchmark requirements, and final approval.

Grand Winners

Top-performing participants may receive Grand Scholarship Prizes. To qualify, a participant must score at least 85% and rank first in the approved category.

A selected group of high-performing participants will receive Merit Scholarship Prizes in academic value.

CBT-based assessment

A serious computer-based academic challenge.

The CBT structure is designed to make the process organised, credible, efficient, and performance-driven. Participants will be expected to read carefully, think clearly, manage time properly, and answer with accuracy.

Junior Rising Star

For students at the JSS1 competition level. Suitable for pupils currently completing Basic 6 or Primary 6 and preparing for the next level.

Intermediate Rising Star

For JSS2/JSS3 competition level. This assesses transfer readiness, literacy, numeracy, reasoning, basic science, and general academic potential.

Senior Rising Star

For SS1 competition level. Designed for students ready for higher academic reasoning, maturity, and subject-based thinking.

Eligibility requirements

Who can register?

The competition is open to students from other schools within approved JSS1, JSS2, JSS3, and SS1 levels, and to Life Baker Basic 6 pupils progressing into JSS1.

Current Life Baker secondary school students are not eligible for prize consideration in this edition. Parents or guardians are expected to complete registration on behalf of the child or ward.

85% Benchmark

The Grand Scholarship Prize is reserved for exceptional performance. A participant must score at least 85% and rank first in the approved category. If the top participant in a category does not meet the benchmark, Life Baker reserves the right not to award the Grand Scholarship Prize in that category.
