At Life Baker Group of Schools, giving back to society and fostering unity among the youth is at the heart of what we do. We believe education extends beyond the classroom, and sports provide a powerful platform to nurture teamwork, discipline, and community spirit. This vision came to life in the First Edition of the Life Baker Knockout Football Tournament, which ran from April 7 to April 20, 2025, at the Life Baker Sports Centre.

What began as an initiative to empower young people through football blossomed into two unforgettable weeks of competition, camaraderie, and soccer excellence. The atmosphere was electric as students, parents, and football enthusiasts came together to celebrate the energy and talent of our youth.
This maiden edition featured 8 spirited teams: Soccer Talents FC, Hood Soccer FC, Young Boys FC, Young Stars FC, Treasure FC, Brightfield FC, Kashamadupe FC, and Saint FC. A total of 11 matches were played in a group-to-knockout format, each game filled with skill, drama, and passion that kept the crowds on their feet.
The grand finale which was held on Easter Sunday, was graced by our amiable Proprietress, Deaconess Alice Arowojolu, Life Baker Management and Staff; Club Managers, Talent Hunt Teams, Community Leaders and other dignitaries. The finale delivered the perfect climax of the tournament. Soccer Talents FC triumphed over Treasure FC with a 2–1 victory, capping off a tournament that not only entertained but also showcased resilience, sportsmanship, and leadership among the youth.

The winners Soccer Talents FC, and the two runner-up clubs, were presented with trophies, full team jerseys, and cash gifts.
Spectators and football lovers were not left out. A raffle draw was took place, and a lot of spectators went home with different amazing gifts. It was an evening of joy.

Beyond the goals and the fun, the Life Baker Knockout Tournament reinforced our mission of community development and youth empowerment. It was a stage for young players to shine, build friendships, and embody the values of respect and perseverance that we hold dear.
As we reflect on this milestone, Life Baker looks ahead to creating even more opportunities for young people to grow, both on and off the field.
